Bitcoin Floats Around $7,100 as Top Altcoins See Slight Growth

Sunday, Dec. 15 — most of the top 20 cryptocurrencies are reporting slight growth on the day by press time, as Bitcoin (BTC) hovers around the $7,100 mark again.

Bitcoin price is currently up by 0.28% on the day, trading at around $7,097 at press time, according to Coin360. Looking at its weekly chart, the coin is down by about 6.17%.

As Cointelegraph reported yesterday, a report published on Dec. 4 by Bitcoin fund operator Grayscale suggested that 43% of investors interested in Bitcoin are women.

Ether (ETH) is holding onto its position as the largest altcoin by market cap, which currently stands at $15.8 billion. The second-largest altcoin, Ripple’s XRP, has a market cap of $9.5 billion at press time.

Coin360 data shows that ETH has seen its value increase by about 0.51% over the last 24 hours. At press time, ETH is trading around $143. On the week, the coin has also lost about 5.9% of its value.

XRP is up by about 0.4% over the last 24 hours and is currently trading at around $0.217. On the week, the coin is down about 6.06%.

Among the top 20 cryptocurrencies, the one seeing the most notable gains is Cosmos (ATOM), which is up about 10.76%.

At press time, total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies is $195.1 billion, about 4.03% lower than the value it reported a week ago.
